Brookfield Garden Centre

Brookfield just 20 minutes out of the Brisbane CBD, I find is far enough out of the city to feel removed from the bustle, but still close enough to not have to pack a lunch and set the alarm. This little community has a feel similar to that of a small rural town. This is one of the reasons I enjoy venturing out this way to Brookfield Garden Centre, and the Wild Canary bistro also located onsite.
The main reason though, that keeps me coming back again and again to this garden centre and gift shop, is the quality and variety of the plants kept in stock. The thought and planning that clearly goes into the layout of the displays, there is always something new to feast my eyes on each time I arrive. I won't forget the vertical garden displayed last year during the height of summer. It was lush, green and inviting. I’m sure you could just part the cascading greenery, step inside and cool off.
There is a small gift shop also located on site amongst the greenery called Plumbago Gift House. It is home to a variety of handmade, stylish wares that range from textiles, jewelry and ceramics, to artwork and garden accessories. All thoughtfully sourced, in keeping with Plumbago’s values, involving sourcing as much as possible, local wares of quality and sustainability.
I’m looking forward to seeing what summer has in store this year at this garden centre and what magnificent displays are on show. If you’ve not made the trip out to here yet, take a short drive and check it out. Book in breakfast at Wild Canary and take a stroll afterwards through the garden centre. Sounds like my type of morning!
