Lemonade Marmalade
This post is both a celebration of nature at this time of year in all its blooming glory; as well as a look at the little hybrid fruit, the lemonade.
Rafter and Rose
Aside from the delicious food and coffee on offer in an atmosphere that has a warmness much like home, the core of Rafter and Rose is clearly all about family. Be prepared to be welcomed as one of their own, as soon as you step inside.
Petit Tracteur
A French-inspired bistro located in Main Ridge, an area of the Mornington Peninsula known for its artisan food, wine and produce. This place certainly didn't disappoint.
Citrus Tart
Citrus has been going absolutely berserk here on the Northern Rivers of late. Oranges, lemons, mandarins, lemonades, grapefruit; cumquats. What else have I missed?
Wolston Farmhouse
The farmhouse dates back to the nineteenth-century and is operated by the National Trust of Australia, Queensland. There is an onsite café called the Tea Terrace perched on an airy verandah at the back of the farmhouse.
Wild Canary
If you’re a nature-lover looking for a dining experience where the emphasis is on fresh, seasonal and local ingredients all the while delivered against a gorgeous lush, green backdrop. Wild Canary is more than likely for you.
Lilly Pilly Pear Cake
You’ll need access to a good harvest of lilly pilly berries, mine were falling off the hedges in the front yard. Plenty of fruit for cake-making.
Gateway Fine Foods
As a newcomer to the area, it was nice to sit down with Debbie, the owner of Gateway Fine Foods, a cafe on the main street in Kyogle. We chatted about the region; and the local products and produce that she sources and sells in her cafe and deli.
Little Seed
I love the concept of a restaurant kitchen garden, and make sure I always make the time to check these places out. Little Seed shares this passion, with garden beds at the front of the restaurant lined with herbs and vegetables, for you to dine amongst.
