Little Seed
Russell Street | Toowoomba | QLD
I escaped the annual Riverfire celebrations in Brisbane this year (as spectacular as they are - who doesn’t enjoy the lightshow!) For something different I spent the weekend in Toowoomba on a mini country getaway, and this is where I visited Little Seed, a vegan restaurant in town for breakfast.
I love the concept of a restaurant kitchen garden, and make sure I always make the time to check these places out whenever I come across them. Little Seed shares this passion for produce grown onsite, with garden beds at the front of the restaurant lined with herbs and vegetables, for you to dine amongst….and ultimately eat.
The remaining produce for the menu is actively sourced from producers in the Toowoomba area, with the aim of buying directly from the producers themselves and cutting out as much handling as possible.
The end product is a menu that is a wholesome, plant based, unrefined, gluten-free, and seasonal experience. I’m not a vegan but from the experience had with my meal, and from what I could see on the menu, I think the staunchest of carnivores will be left satisfied with what is on offer here.
If you’re in Toowoomba or surrounds, and love the idea of a chef just ducking out front to harvest for your meal, drop into Little Seed for a bite to eat, a coffee and a new experience. I also hear there are cooking classes presently on offer by the head chef.
Little Seed is open Wednesday to Sunday.
