Northern Rivers | NSW

This lilly pilly and pear cake is a new chapter for the blog. Up until now I’ve had to go to lengths to achieve the lifestyle I wanted while living in Brisbane.  Now it’s right on my doorstep and I look forward to incorporating this new way of life into the blog.  I’m looking forward to making use of what is growing in the local area, or in the case of these lilly pilly berries  - growing in my very front garden.

Garden of St Erth | VIC

I used to think the best time to visit the Daylesford region in Victoria was during the colder months and traditionally that’s what I’ve done but that was until I went for a visit in November last year. Everything was lush and green and I saw things in a bit of a different light.

Citrus Tart | Northern Rivers

Don’t know about your part of the world, but citrus has been going absolutely berserk here on the Northern Rivers of late. Oranges, lemons, mandarins, lemonades, grapefruit; cumquats. What else have I missed?

Fringe & Fodder for me is the pursuit of as gentler a way of life as possible with all of life's constraints and demands.

Tell me about it

I love to write and take photos and I'm in my element when surrounded by lush foliage and delicious food prepared from scratch. If you have anything you would like to tell me about  that may contribute to my gentler way of life,  and in turn give me something to photograph and write about, please get in touch!

Waterfall Way | NSW

This tourist drive stretches east to west starting at a place called Raleigh and finishes out west at Armidale. I drove in the back way from the Northern Rivers, through Grafton and Namboida and even before hitting Waterfall Way, this was a lovely drive in itself.

Manawee Garden Centre | Buderim

Moss lines the walls in the indoor plant area at Manawee Garden Centre, providing a backdrop for the many hanging pots containing lush greenery, mostly ferns (and mostly my favourite, the maidenhair).  Layer upon layer of varying textures, and shades of green.
