Botanical Bazaar
Country Paradise Parklands | Nerang | QLD
I visited a green event recently called Botanical Bazaar. An annual gardening expo and interactive event held in Nerang on the Gold Coast with workshops and information sessions, showcasing a large number of local, green inspired business owners, with a real spotlight on urban gardening and sustainability.
I was met with an elaborate kitchen garden display at the Mudbrick Cottage Herbfarm stall as I walked in. A true visual representation of what I think when I hear the term ‘Kitchen Garden’, with a little stove top and pantry stocked with only organic, green ingredients fresh from the garden.
I also found some gift ideas at the Our Kitchen Garden stall as I made my way around. On display was a large range of their handmade gardening accessories, and rustic, timber homewares. I had my eye on one of their gorgeous wooden trugs.
The expo appeared to have something for all age groups, and skill levels. I enjoyed my wander around the aquaponic and hydroponic gardening display. I had always assumed, in order to garden either of these ways with results, it would be incredibly complex. I was surprised to hear that it can be as simple or as complex as you like, and still yield healthy produce.
If you by chance missed the Botanical Bazaar this year, never mind, you’ll be prepared for next year. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for updates, then pack a hat, a pair of comfy shoes and get ready to immerse yourself in some foliage, some new gardening skills, and perhaps even some gift ideas.
